I created seventeen illustrations depicting key moments in Frida’s life, from childhood through to adulthood. These illustrations accompanied editorial stories about Frida Kahlo’s life in Bravery Magazine. Bravery Magazine is an American publication designed for children between age four and nine.
The illustrations depict Frida growing up in Mexico, including her contraction of polio during childhood and her schooling. The images also deal with her discovery of painting during the recovery from the horrific bus accident she was in. The final third of the illustrations illustrate her artistic and creative achievements.
